CineCentre Brings Out Another First For Movie Fans!
Gone are the days when a credit card is the only way to book movie tickets online. Avalon Group’s CineCentre, the third largest cinema group in South Africa, has just launched an easier, more efficient way of booking tickets and is the first cinema group that accepts debit cards as a way of booking and paying for movie tickets online and via their call centre.
The process is simple and to the point, making it user friendly for movie fans across the country. All users need is a PIN –based debit card with Standard Bank and/or Nedbank and a South African cell phone with Vodacom and/or MTN to enter ticket booking heaven.
Just like entering a PIN number into a point-of-sale device at the checkout counter, when using payD to make a payment on the web, users enter their PIN on their mobile phones. The payD service encrypts the PIN using the SIM card in the mobile phone so nobody except the bank can read it. This not only makes everything hassle free but also a safe online booking environment.
Says Avalon Group CEO, AB Moosa, “We continuously endeavour to innovate and add to our various offerings so as to make the cinema going experience for our patrons as easy and flexible as possible and are delighted to be adding this to our bouquet of firsts in the cinema industry in South Africa.”
