A massive manhunt is on for Zunaid Moti, a 37-year-old prominent businessman from Johannesburg. He is wanted for several charges including attempted murder. According to police, Moti had been on the run since a raid at his house in Sandton on Saturday.

The police’s Brigadier Thulani Ngubane said they had information that he had skipped the country, but after extensive investigation the police have reason to believe that he is still in South Africa.

Brigadier Ngubane declined to elaborate further saying they could not discuss the case at this point. “We are dealing with a very sensitive investigation. Confirming many of the issues may jeopardies our case.”

Meanwhile, Moti’s lawyer Ian Small-Smith said they have been in touch with the authorities and are cooperating and trying to resolve the matter in a very responsible way.

It is understood an arrangement may have been reached for Moti and others to hand themselves over next week.

Moti is the owner of a luxury vehicle dealership, Future Exotics Lifestyle Emporium and is also the chairman of property group Abalengani.
