Raghubir (Raj Singh Chaudhary) studies in Delhi and lives with his girlfriend in Delhi, while his father (Vinay Pathak) is arranging his marriage in his rural hometown, which of course his son does not agree to.
As Raghubir leaves the home disgruntled, he gets kidnapped by a neighbouring village leader and is forced in a drugged state to marry his daughter. Refusing to consummate his marriage, everyone suffers, his parents wondering what has happened to him, until the truth comes out about where Raghubir has disappeared to.
Director Sushil Rajpal makes a compelling movie, reportedly based on events like this that still take place in rural Rajasthan today.
Antardwand won the National Award for Best Film on social cohesion.
